Enugu State Police nabs six notorious bandits terrorizing residents

The Enugu State Police Command has arrested six notorious bandits that had been terrorising residents of the state.
According to a statement by the command's spokesperson, Mr Ebere Amaraizu, following a tip-off from some members of the public, its operatives in Adani Division in the early hours of Saturday, September 10th, nabbed six notorious armed bandits that have been terrorising the lives of the innocent citizens of Opanda,Nimbo and Adani Axis of Uzouwani local Government Area of Enugu state and its environs.
The suspects who gave their names as Ernest Umeh,Okwudili Ugwuoke,Sunday Agbo,Arinze Agu,Ezeata Ugochukwu,Arinze Agu and Nnamdi ojobo are helping the police in their investigations in relation to their alleged nefarious activities ranging from armed robbery, burglary, amongst others.
The command has launched a manhunt for the remaining gang members. Items recovered from the suspects included locally made gun,two short axes and some exhibits like TV Set,DVD,six handsets suspected to have robbed from their various victims,standing fan amongst others.
The State Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Ojukwu has applauded the effort of his men and the synergy between his operatives and members of the community and maintained that the command under his watch will continue to partner communities,sister security agencies and all relevant stake holders to ensure a safe and secured environment.

government confessed to killing 35 people in one

The younger one claimed to have killed 32
people in the attack, while the older one claimed

On Sunday 11th September 2016, evening, a suspected female suicide bomber was seen approaching troops check point located at Kara Cattle market axis, Dikwa, towards Antul and Mukdala, Dikwa Local Government Area, Borno State.
She was challenged from afar by the vigilant duty sentry, she refused to stop claiming to be coming from Monguno to see her parents in Dikwa.
Troops sensing the direction of approach was suspicious and abnormal, fired a shot at her and the sentry gallant sentry was proven right as she was carrying a Person Borne Improvised Explosive Device (PBIED) which exploded with a loud bang, killing her instantly and causing minor injury on 2 soldiers and a Civilian JTF assisting them.
The injured soldiers and the civilian have been treated and have continued with their duties.
This incident has shown that there are a few of the remnants of the Boko Haram terrorists that are determined to carry out criminal acts to create panic and insecurity in some areas.
In a related development, there is also very reliable information that remnants of the Boko Haram terrorists now disguise or pretend to be mad men or women in order to gain access to some locations especially in Maiduguri.
Consequently, all should be very wary of any seemingly mentally unstable or mad men or women found wandering and report same. It is imperative for all to be more security conscious and vigilant especially during the Eid festivities and public holidays.

The fraudsters, according to SEC, carry out their illegitimate business viaNigeria-mmm.net portal/platform, and are promising investors a monthly investment return of 30 per cent.

SEC said the venture had no tangible business model, describing it as a Ponzi scheme, where returns would be paid from other people’s invested funds.

Investopedia.com describes a Ponzi scheme as a fraudulent investing scam promising high rates of return with little risk to investors. The scheme generates returns for older investors by acquiring new investors.

SEC on its website, said, “The attention of SEC, Nigeria has been drawn to the activities of an online investment scheme tagged ‘MMM Federal Republic of Nigeria (nigeria-mmm.net). The platform has embarked on an aggressive online media campaign to lure the investing public to participate in what it called ‘mutual aid financial network’ with a monthly investment return of 30 per cent.

“The commission hereby notifies the investing public that the operation of this investment scheme has no tangible business model hence it’s a Ponzi Scheme, where returns are paid from other people’s invested sum. Also, its operation is not registered by the Commission.”

SEC, therefore, advised the general public to distance themselves from the online scheme, adding, “Please note that anyone that subscribes to this illegal activity does so at their own risk.” 

A word is enough for the wise. If you are spending on MMM, do so with caution. Am. Not saying it's actually or totally scam you shouldn't put all your eggs in one basket. This is why i haven't written anything about MMM as i haven't tested and confirm it just as i did with swiscoin

wife of former President Goodluck Jonathan.




The EFCC says it has traced a fresh $5m to the account of Dame Patience Jonathan, following investigations into a financial crime
involving one of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan’s special advicers. According to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) the fresh discovery brings to $20m the total amount so far traced to the former first lady in an investigations into a money laundering case.

A money laundering case against a former Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs to ex-President Jonathan, Waripamowei Dudafa,
the EFCC had traced four company accounts to him with a balance of $15m. The EFCC subsequently charged Dudafa and
the four companies with money laundering.
The four companies, whose accounts have since been frozen, are Pluto Property and
Investment Company Limited, Seagate Property Development and Investment Company Limited, Trans Ocean Property and Investment Company Limited and Globus
Integrated Service Limited.
A source at the EFCC said: “While we were investigating Dudafa, we traced the four companies to him. The companies have domiciliary accounts at Skye Bank with a
balance of about $15m. So, we obtained a court order and froze the accounts.
“We then traced the directors of the
companies who then denied ownership of the
accounts. It was later that we were informed
that the accounts belonged to Patience
Jonathan and that she is the sole signatory to
the accounts. She was given a special card
which she used in making withdrawals across
the world.
“We, therefore, wondered why the accounts
were not opened in her name if she had
nothing to hide. In fact, we later found out
that her personal account, which bears her
name, has a balance of $5m. One wonders
where a person, who has never held a
government position, got the money from. She
was not our initial target but she certainly has
questions to answer.”
Jonathan’s wife has, however, sued Skye
Bank for freezing her bank accounts and
giving the EFCC vital information about her
finances...

Witch allegedly crash lands during a flying operation

A supposed witch was spotted walking naked and holding a broom, leading people to believe she crashed while in flight.

According to reports from iHarare News, a ‘flying’ witch crash-landed in a local community in Harare, Zimbabwe, recently.

The supposed witch (an old woman), was seen walking stark naked in the night, holding onto a long broomstick (just like they

100 Cows Missing - Fulani Herdmen in Enugu Cries Out

•Attakwu youths protest continueda Against the stay of Fulani Herdsmen.

AN Enugu State-based Fulani herdsman, Alhaji Sodu has claimed that over 100 cows belonging to him were missing as a result of an alleged attack on a Fulani settlement in the state. He also accused the youths of Aku community in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of masterminding the attack, adding that a herdsman sustained
three gunshot wounds following the incident while three others were claimed to be missing. Sodu gave the name of his injured son as Wareri ,17, while Musa, Buba and Mohammed were said to be missing.

This came on a day, youths of Attaukwu community in Nkanu-West Local Government Area where herdsmen had on August 25,
2016, invaded the community slaughtering a Catholic seminarian,Lazarus Nwafor, and
Ifeoma Agbo embarked on a protest over the continued stay of herdsmen in their community.

Visit to hospital

A visit to the to the Refuge Hospital, Enugu in the company of the Chairman, Enugu Constituted Security Committee, Brigadier
General Fred Eze ,retd, where injured Wareri was receiving treatment showed the latter was in high spirit. However, Sodu appealed
to security agencies to quickly arrest the masterminds of the attack. He said: “I am too old now to go into the forest in search
of my three sons. I am appealing to security agencies to rescue my sons unharmed. The youths have slaughtered seven of my cows.
Over 100 cows are missing now”.
Security committee chair allay fears
Chairman, Enugu Constituted Security Committee, Brigadier General Fred Eze ,retd,
who confirmed the incident, appealed for calm adding that the committee was on top
of the situation. His words: “We want to allay fears generated by this incident. The Army have moved to forestall any breakdown of law and order. The Garrison
Commander, O.T Akinjobi has dispatched a search party for the missing kids. “Another
combined team of Police and Army have equally moved into the area to avert any breakdown of public peace. This incident is already under investigation and authorities
will unravel the remote causes of the
incident and ensure that appropriate actions are taken.”
