Some youths were said to have attacked a Catholic church in Niger state on Friday, with the excuse that ‘Friday belongs to them’.
According to Daily Post, the youths laid
siege on St. Philip’s Catholic Parish, Baki
Iku, not so far from Zuma Rock in the state,
and eyewitnesses reported that the
Catholics had gone to church for prayers
when the incident occurred.
It was gathered that the Muslims laid claim
on Friday as their day of worship, noting that
the Christians were only allowed to worship
on Sundays after which they (Muslims)
destroyed the church’s properties.
A source disclosed that, “although some
soldiers managed to get there but a lot of
harm had been done to the building, while the
Christians ran away in different directions to
avoid being killed.”
The Vicar-General of the diocese, Rev (Fr)
Luka Sylvester Gopep, also confirmed the
incident, saying: “Sometime around 2pm,
some Muslim youths in their hundreds left
their Mosque after their Friday Jumat prayer
and rushed to the Church premises, climbed
the wall and destroyed everything in the
Church: the windows, the alter, musical
instruments, the chapel.
“The security man in the church premises was
beaten to pulp. Some women who were
holding a prayer meeting were chased away.
The seminarian who is resident in the
premises was also beaten up and chased
away.”
This incident is likely to irk Christians all
over the country again as recently, a
pastor’w wife, Mrs Eunice Olawale Elisha,
was murdered in cold blood by some
Muslims in Kubwa area of Abuja, Nigeria’s
federal capital, for reportedly preaching in
their area.
Christians were after the incident, asked to
protect themselves as the leadership of the
Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN)
described the recent killing of Christians as
brutal and unacceptable, adding: “authority’s
inaction is becoming unbearable and may not
be tolerated anymore.”....

More trouble seems to be brewing for
Governor Ayodele Fayose as the Economic
and Financial Crimes Commission seized his
properties located in Lagos and Abuja.
The Ekiti state governor has been under the
radar of the EFCC over the alleged transfer
of N1.219bn from the office of the national
security adviser to Ekiti in the build-up to the
state’s gubernatorial election in 2014 which
Fayose eventually won.
It was reported that the governor got the
money through Senator Musiliu Obanikoro
who allegedly transported the fund from
Lagos from a plane to Ekiti. Obanikoro has
since fled Nigeria to the US.
The Punch reports that the properties were
located in the highbrow areas of the state
and were seized because they were
purchased with stolen fund.
The EFCC invoked the Assets Forfeiture
clause to seize the properties in line with
Sections 28 and 34 of the EFCC
(Establishment Act) 2004 and Section 13(1)
of the Federal High Court Act, 2004.
Two of the properties located in 32
Yedseram Street and 44 Osun River
Crescent, Maitama, Abuja had the inscription
‘EFCC, Keep Off’ on the fences.
According to the EFCC, the property on Osun
River Crescent was purchased in the name
of Mrs. Moji Ladeji, Fayose’s sister who is
based in London.
The two properties in Abuja are reportedly
worth N470 million.
The properties in Lagos were four duplexes
located at Plot 100 Tiamiyu Savage Street,
Victoria Island and they cost $1.3m (N364m)
each.
In a court affidavit by the EFCC, the anti-
graft agency accused Fayose of using public
fund for his own benefit.
Part of the affidavit read: “Apart from
fraudulently retaining the sum of N1,
219,490,000 being part of the N4,
745,000,000 stolen from the treasury of the
Federal Government through the Office of the
National Security Adviser, the applicant
(Fayose) has also received gratification in form
of kickbacks from various contractors with the
Ekiti State Government such as Samchese
Nigeria Ltd, Tender Branch Concept Nig. Ltd,
Hoff Concept Ltd and Calibre Consulting Ltd.
“The applicant (Fayose) received these
kickbacks and gratification through Still Earth
Ltd and Signachorr Nigeria Limited. In turn, the
applicant (Fayose) instructed the Still Earth Ltd
and Signachoor Nigeria Limited to use the
funds to acquire properties for him.
“In complying with the applicant’s instruction,
Still Earth Limited and Signachoor Nigeria
Limited acquired properties on behalf of the
applicant (Fayose) in the name of a company
known as J.J Technical Services Limited
belonging to the applicant (Fayose) and his
wife (Feyisetan).
“That the applicant (Fayose) also used the
name of one Mrs. Moji Ladeji (the applicant’s
sister) to acquire a property situated at 44,
Osun Crescent, Maitama Abuja, from the
proceeds of the alleged offences of receiving
gratification and kickbacks.”
Governor Fayose has however denied the
allegation and said all his properties were
“bought legitimately and his properties were
duly declared in his assets declaration form
and sources of such funds were not illicit.”
Fayose insisted that he wasn’t afraid of the
media trial of the EFCC saying “the anti-
corruption agency and its collaborators in
the All Progressives Congress (APC) should
not be in a hurry in their ill-motive, rather
they should wait till 2018 after my tenure
when I will confront their lies.”
He also said: “the EFCC did more than this
in 2006 but when I challenged their cooked
up stories on poultry project in the court, the
EFCC failed to substantiate all their
allegations against me and their case
crumbled like a pack of cards…

The Lagos state police command has
effected the arrest of three men, Shola
Owolabi, Michael Lanre and Samuel Akpan,
for reportedly filming a teenager while
sleeping with her.
According to Daily Post, the trio, 28, 21 and
34, were said to be fond of the said act and
were picked up as soon as the matter was
reported at the Ipaja Ayobo police station,
Lagos by Akpan’s landlord who reportedly
heard the lady scream.
The three men who allegedly slept with the
lady in Ipaja Ayobo area of Lagos state.
Fatai Owoseni, the Lagos state police boss,
while parading the culprits, said the men
confessed that it was a mutual act.
Speaking on his part in the ordeal, Owolabi
said: “I went to work that fateful day. When I
came back, I went to Akpan’s house only to
see him making love to the girl and when I
entered his room, he just finished making love
to her. I persuaded the girl to allow me sleep
with her and she accepted.
“I made love to her too. While I was doing it
with the girl, Lanre walked in and brought out
his phone and claimed he was using the torch
on the phone to look for something in the
room, but he was filming me as I was making
love to the girl.
“We were arrested in the act.”
Lanre, who confessed to have had a carnal
knowledge of the lady, noted: “Owolabi and I
walked into Akpan’s apartment when we met
both of them making love. We persuaded the
girl to allow us to make love to her too
which she consented to. We went only one
round each. When I brought my phone out, I
only wanted to use the torch, I never
thought of filming them in the act. It was a
mistake.”
Akpan, in whose house the act was
perpetrated, denied uploading the video
online, adding that he had no idea his friends
were coming around at the time he was in
the act.
The Akwa Ibom state indigene said: “I am a
bus conductor. It was some boys in my
compound who I used to send on errands
who saw the girl and introduced her to me.
We became friends thereafter, so the following
day, she came to visit me. We were both
inside my room and I persuaded her to allow
me to make love to her which she accepted.
“My friends walked in and met us in the act.
The room was dark, one of them wanted to
use the torch on his phone. He did not know
that the camera of the phone was recording
what we were doing. It was when we got to
the police station they discovered the video on
his phone.
“I am not happy to find myself in this
situation. I don’t know what to tell my parents
back home if they see me in this condition.”
According to Chris Udoh, a journalist in the
state, the duo were already having sex inside
a hotel room in Eket, Akwa Ibom, when the
shocking occurrence happened.

It could be recalled that on Saturday, July 2,
it was reported that top Nigerian music star
Dapo Oyebanjo popularly known as D’banj,
secretly tied the knot with his girlfriend
Lineo Didi Kilgrow in private ceremony.
In an interview with E! VIP, D’banj opened up
on his on how his journey into the music
industry began, his rumoured relationship

The NDA threat is coming after its constant

Yesterday, July 15, ExxonMobil subsidiary
Mobil Producing Nigeria declared force
majeure on exports of Nigeria’s Qua Iboe
crude oil. Qua Iboe crude oil is Nigeria’s
largest export stream.
The company’s announcement raised
curiosity as to whether the claims by the
NDA are true. But the spokesperson for the
company, Todd Spliter, in a statement
released to the media said the company
observed a “system anomaly” during a routine
check of its loading facility on Thursday,
July 14.
In response to ExxonMobil’s claims, the
NDA’s spokesperson, Mudoch Agbinibo
accused the oil company of engaging in
deceit and misleading the public on the true
situation of things.

It’s a strange world we live in!
It was a strange sight in Akwa Ibom state
when a woman allegedly turned into a snake
during sex with her lover in a hotel.
According to Chris Udoh, a journalist in the
state, the duo were already having sex
inside a hotel room in Eket, Akwa Ibom,
when the shocking occurrence
happened. According to what he reported,
the middle-aged man had taken the lady he
met along the road in the town, to a hotel to
have sex with her in the hotel but he got the
shock of his life when the woman allegedly
turned into a mammoth reptile.
“The incident took place on Friday when the
man took the lady to a three Star hotel in Eket
metropolis (name of hotel withheld). The man
checked in with the light complexion woman
apparently in her mid-thirties to have a nice
time but it turned out to be his worse
nightmare.
Upon arriving the hotel, the pair sat at the
bush bar and ordered for fresh fish pepper
soup. According to the man, the lady opted for
just drinks as she told him that she doesn’t
eat sea foods. Instead, she opted for a bottle
of red wine.
”After having few bottles of drinks, the couple
retired to their room. While in there, the man
said he observed that she took so much time
in the rest room which warranted him to knock
on the door frequently, but she kept answering
that she will soon be through.
According to the man, when she finally came
out, she told him not to touch her head while
they made love, telling him that she had a
severe headache and suggested that the red
wine may have caused it.
”The man said that when they started having
sex, the lady started wriggling her body on the
bed like a snake but he admitted that he didn’t
give serious thought to it ‘as he was enjoying
the action. The man who is in his mid-forties,
said as soon as he had his orgasm and got up
from her body, he noticed that her entire body
was fast changing to a snake. He said he was
overwhelmed by fear and jumped out of the
room naked and raised an alarm which
attracted both the hotel managers and others
patrons to rush to his room. When the
management of the hotel made their way into
the room, the lady was still half snake and half
human, wriggling on the bed, but the hotel
manager quickly rushed out to inform the
police.
“They fastened the lock on the door of the
room and instructed every one to keep off.
Upon return, the lady had disappeared. The
management handed over the man who
brought the lady to their facility to the police
from the Ukwa Police Division.”

Pictures were taken of how a man’s spirit
was leaving his body after his losing his life
during a fatal road accident.
CNN reports that the picture was captured
by a passing motorist at the scene of a fatal
road accident involving a motorcycle and a
vehicle in Kentucky, USA on Tuesday, July
12, 2016.
The man’s spirit reportedly leaving his body
after the accident.
The picture shows the person’s spirit leaving
his body just as an ambulance was working
at the scene of the incident another passing
motorist, Saul Vazquez, informed that the
picture was taken by his dad as he passed
by the scene of the accident on Tuesday.
“I took this picture just few minutes ago from
the cab of my truck. It was an accident
between Campton and Stanton on the service
road just off of the mountain parkway.
“Zoom in and pay attention to the shadow just
off the top of the state trooper hat.
“All I say is I hope everyone involved is okay,”
the Kentucky photographer wrote after
posting the photo online.
CNN reports that the man whose spirit was
said to have appeared on the man’s camera
was later confirmed dead in a hospital.
Speaking on the issue, Scott C Waring of
ufosightingsdaily.com, who reportedly has
interest in the paranormal, stated: “This is
absolutely mind boggling.
“When an accident happened, someone took a
photo and realised a spirit was moving upward
from the dead body.
“Although this is not a UFO or alien, it is
paranormal and very exciting news indeed.
“This confirms, that humans will not just
disappear when we die, but our energy stays
intact and lifts away from the shell of a body
to go somewhere awesome.”....
